"What is the max RPM's for

"What is the max RPM's for 1986 Crusader 270's? I have an 86 Silverton 34'; and they wont spin past 4000 RPM's. Engines seem to run perfectly. I just bought this boat 2 months ago, so I don't know if it has the original props or not.

Anyone know what the best props are for this boat/engine combo?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

"4000 rpm isn't bad for that engine. Yes other may say you could get higher but, I run similar engines at 3200rpm to stay of of the 4 barrels. SO really is it worth changing out the props for more peak rpm? Prop are always give and take, more max rpm, slower out of the hole,etc."

I HAVE A 1984 390 EXPRESS 454 CRUSADERS I AM NOT A MECHANIC. CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW TO FIND NUMBER 1 ON THE DIST. CAP IT IS NOT MARKED.
AND THEN LOOKING AT THE BOAT FROM STERN TO THE FRONT OF THE MOTOR (PORT TO STARBOARD) WHAT ARE THE NUMBERS ON THE CYCD. AND THE FIRING ORDER SOME IT UP HOW DO I WIRE MY 454S
