i have a mercuriser 3lt lx wit

i have a mercuriser 3lt lx with alpha outdrives.
a friend told me that it's quite easy to convert my engine to diesel.
diesel is far cheaper to buy hear in guernsey and has a greater mpg.
any idea's?

You can buy a really lot of gasoline for what this "easy conversion" will cost."

As far as the original question- no, that motor will not convert.

As Bondo said, anything is possible with enough money. You might want to look into VW diesel motors- I have heard that they are working on at least one for Mastercraft or Indmar (who sets up marine engines for Mastercraft, Malibu, Supra/Moomba and others."
 
don't do it i am changing

don't do it i am changing my twin 1.7 diesel mercs to gas because they are too exspensive to maintain.}} i am selling both motors and drives one 550 hrs. and one with 40hrs
