"what is the official timing settings for dt40 ?

Motor runs perfectly up to around 2,500rpm then actually slows down if you try to increase revs.
Spark seems okay.
Any help appreciated.

Sound more like a fuel problem

Sound more like a fuel problem than timing.The timing is mechanically set and unlikely to change. Try pumping the prime bulb at the problem rpm.
Will get back to you on the timing when I check the manual
