"hi i have an 2.3 omc with cob

"hi i have an 2.3 omc with cobra drive which dont know much about. it looks like someone has tryed to fix the shift assist and it looks wrong, would anyone have a decent picture they can send me of what it should look like. i have a manual but its in black and white and cant quite make it out.

"Lee...I'm not sure which part of the "ESA" you are having a problem with. This picture is a generic one showing the shift arm with both switches and the V shaped notch piece. Does this help or???

I have just taken the engine to be looked at and the mechanic said i have petrol in the sump! he said
its not worth doing i dont know what to do now?
i dont know wether to cut my losses or do it!
 
"If by "petrol in the sump

"If by "petrol in the sump" you mean you have gas in the oil pan that could just be a bad fuel pump diaphram that is dumping gas in the carb (by design) so it won't go in your bilge. There should be a clear or yellow line from the pump to the carb that should not have gas in it, if it does then your pump is shot, not a big problem."
