" I've been searching for a new / rebuilt/ used lower unit for my '86 Suzuki DT200 with the short shaft. My lower unit has blown it's 2nd set of gears in two years, and upon examination it looks like the threads inside the case are stripped (no longer holding pressure on the transmission). I am open to suggestions around 1) fixing the case (someone told me a machine shop could weld in a ring and thread it? anyone done this) 2) new case and rebuild it again 3)find a rebuilt one (mine is probably a zero for a core) 4) go new.
Could use suggestions and/or leads to the parts.
