" I have a 1995 20HP Mercury Outboard Model 20MH.
While operating it today in very cold but clean water, I noticed the outlet port for the water pump would have a strong stream of water at times and then other times a really poor stream or almost non-existant. Ice just went off the lake yesterday. Would the reason for this be the very cold water? Or do I have a potential problem with my water pump or impeller? "
 
Water pump impellers have a l

Water pump impellers have a limited life. Cold water operation is hard on them. Replace it for peace of mind.
 
YOUR MOTOR SHOULD HAVE A THER

YOUR MOTOR SHOULD HAVE A THERMOSTAT IN IT THEREFORE THIS WOULD BE NORMAL OPERATION.
