What Prop should I use for a 1988 40 Johnson

16' al. boat with a 1988 40 horse Jonson motor. I was wondering if I went to a stainless prop what differance would it make? I guess I just need good info on what props do and how to adjust to what my boat needs. I bought the boat set up this way and I tend to have 4 people in the boat instead of 2 like the guy I purchased it from.

The manufacture do

The manufacture does not recommend the prop you are using. For a 12 1/2 inch diameter prop they show 13 inch pitch.

They do show 15 inch pitch for the 12 1/4 inch diameter prop.
