" I have 1985 Evinrude 15 hors

" I have 1985 Evinrude 15 horse outboard, model number E15ECOB that I am having a little problem with. I replaced both ingition coils and spark plugs in trouble shooting. When I throttle up, the engine seems to have a miss and is slow in responding, but does seem to come to full speed. At mid throttle I definitely feel and hear somewhat of a miss. Any ideas before I take it to a shop???? Thanks in advance. "

" I finally got it in the water over the weekend. runs much better, but still has the miss at mid power range. Compression is 80 on both cylinders dry and wet........gonna pull the carb this week and go thru it now. "
 
You can get the same problem

You can get the same problem by running too rich. Try setting your lean-rich control leaner before you tear that carb apart.
