" I recently acquired a 217 reinell, 470 mercruiser, Alpha 1 leg. the motor was repalced with a new long block in 2000, at a cost of $5000 canadian. it was run for approximately 30 hours that year and has sat since then, the motor was not winterized or put away for long term storage. Using a screw driver it is easy to turn the engine over. I currently have the motor out of the boat. My question is, Should I pull the crank and hand lube the journals or ccan I just run the motor as is, I am nervous about twisting out a bearing shell "
