BF100 gear box oil leak

I have a 1984 Honda BF100 and

I have a 1984 Honda BF100 and today I noticed oil dripping out of the two holes on the lower gear box housing. These two holes are towards the outside of the housing and are between the oil drain and fill plugs. The oil looks and smells like gear oil. Does anyone know what these holes do and why the oil is leaking out of both of them?

The wee holes are drains for water. If you suspect problems with the seals then have the lower unit pressure tested at a shop.
