"I just got my 165 engine back from the machine shop. I am curious as to the kind of efficiency I will see with this engine with a fresh rebuild and a new heat exchanger. I've had this same engine in a different boat with full raw water cooling, and I felt like I got about 2.5 miles per gallon in the ocean."

Sounds kind of under powered, even though 2.5MPG
(8 gallons per hour, assuming 20 knots) isn't all that bad."
