" Hi all,

I have a older model Cobra Out Drive, the engine is a 4 clyn. It wont stay in forward gear, I changed the clutch dog, it was worn but not too bad. The gears looked pretty good with just a little rounding where the dog engages. I think the shift rod was at the right height, at least real close according to the book and was set at about 7&1/8th inch. Could it be the setting on either of the shift cables? The boat is new to me and I am not sure of what was done to it before I got it.
