"Well,.....

What you've

"Well,.....

What you've got to do is Strip them Both down to the Long Block configuration,......

Then,... Reinstall All the OMC ancillary parts onto the Other Long Block....

The Reasons are,......
The Basic Long Blocks are the Exact Same Thing,........
But,.....
A Mercruiser dressed motor will Not bolt up to the OMC drive,+ None of the Other Connections will fit Either.......

What you're doing is a Direct Swap,......
You just have to get back to where they're the Same,.. Before you start the Actual Swap......."

"i dont want to sound like a i

"i dont want to sound like a idiot but are u saying my starter or altanater, all of these will have to be swaped out.

"Ayuh,....

The Flywheel Cov

"Ayuh,....

The Flywheel Cover, aka. the Rear Motor Mount is Different,.....
The Engine Coupler is Different,....
The Flywheel, May, or May Not be the Same,+ the Starter you need will depend on Which Flywheel is used....
The Manifold is Different,....
The Alt. May, or May Not be Different,...Comparing them is the Only way to tell.....
The Carb. is Probably Different,+ the Linkages Probably Are Different......

Like I said,......
IF you strip them down to the Basic Long Block,........ They're the Same motor......
But,..... ANYTHING that's Mercruiser is Different than the OMC Parts.......

Btw,......
A Long Block is JUST the Block(with it's Internal parts), Head,+ the related Tin parts.......
EVERYTHING beyond the Long Block has to be Swapped........"
