"I have twin 1990 454 Crusaders. I have removed the thermosta housings and find no pressure relief valves, springs or seats under the cover. The engines run just fine. Do I need to replace these parts?"

"Joe, unlike Mercruiser, there are no springs or ball checks on your cooling system.

You might as well replace the thermostat while it's apart, but otherwise, you're good to go."
