"I've fixed plenty of cars but never an outboard before so help is needed! I want to change the impeller on my B100L and after reading Ron Mack's post I think that I can manage it.What other parts will I need if I change the gearbox oil as well? Should there be an anode above the prop? And lastly, what paint can be used on the corroded aluminium parts of the body?
I live on a remote island north of Scotland so this site is a Godsend!"

"i would try o locate a factor

"i would try o locate a factory manual first
it is not that hard if u can turn a wrench

i would replace
_thermostat
-pressure relief valves, if u have them i can not remember
-get a complete water pump kit with housing, this way u know everything is new
-gear oil is a must
-also replace the little o-rings that are on the fill/drain plugs also
-pull prop off and lube the shaft

as for paint go with the stock stuff
u will need to prep good also
they key to the marine environment is a excellent prep job before pain

as for the anode, i do not know

do u have a dealer by u?"

"Yup, I should get a manual for it but it seems a waste to get one that covers every Honda engine when I only have one! As for the online version, if you are not sure of the year of manufacture and enter the wrong date have you wasted $35? (The serial number is hard to read)
There is a Honda dealer on the mainland, I rang him for a quotation for this work but he never bothered to ring me back!
**Happy Christmas everyone**"
