"Do any of you know if there is supposed to be water shooting out of the two holes below the back of the engine cover for this engine? Just started looking at the engine...replaced the inpeller, but no water shooting out. Getting water into the lower unit oil also, but will get a little more into that next.

Thanks"

"Those are pressure relief holes for the exhaust. Sometimes some water will come out on some occasions, but water doesn't normally shoot out of them. I don't think your engine probably has a tell-tale port on it, but apparently you can add one if you wish."

If you were on a pair of water

If you were on a pair of water skis you would see lots of water coming out of the two holes. At idle (when warmed up ) it just spits out of there. You must have the thermostat installed.

Awesome. Thanks for the responses.......I actually held my finger in one of the tubes that come to the top of the water pump and sprayed water up the other and water still did not come out. So I was I was worried something was hellaclogged!
So after the thermostat warms up some water will come out?
