reinstalling rebuilt heads. What is guideline on initial torque setting for nut holding rocker arms? Hydraulic lifters. Thanks.

"I know you're not doing this job for the first time without a service manual...With the valve relaxed, torque until you can just rotate the pushrod with your fingers. You will have to rotate the crankshaft so that you can do this for every valve. This will give you the initial setting."
 
Well .... actually a marine me

Well .... actually a marine mechanic friend is helping me but he was not available this week. thanks for the input.

Once I'm up and running the next decision is whether or not to restore the boat which is a 24 ft Mariner (1985) center console with cuddy inboard. Big issue is the integrity of the fuel tanks (aluminum foamed in place). Replacing them is major surgery. No access ports. It's a great boat (9'6" beam) which hasn't been wet in 4 years now. Once I'm in the water I'll decide whether to spend or sell.
