1989 140 evinrude had high speed skip put new power pac runs great now when start up it seems like it not getting enough fuel runs very rough ounce you get it to take the gas it run really good any help please

I'm not a marine engine expert but, I had a similar problem with my Johnson 55. The idle circuit was clogged with varnish on both carbs. I cleaned the carbs out and that appears to have corrected the problem. By the way, a paper clip and compressed air works great to clean the idle tube that runs from the carb bowl to the top of the carb. "

" Im a EVIN 140 dude as well, this is out of the repair manual for a 1978 so keep that in mind. It reads if you change the power pac......that it is almost certain that the full timing advance needs re-adjusted. "
