"We get a lot of questions here about identifying the year of a Johnson or Evinrude motor based on the model number.
I have finally posted two pages that I think will allow users to identify the engines themselves. They include the pre-1980 indexes as well as the "code breaker" for the post-1980 models.

We also are now selling the Print version of the OMC model guide which includes Johnson/Evinrude as well as Gale, OMC Sterdrive and Inboards, boats, snowmobiles, trailers, etc.
