I've got a Clymer Johnson

I've got a Clymer Johnson manual for 40-140hp 1965-1979.Since you have determined that my 40hp is indeed a 1963 can I still use the book to service the motor by or is their too much difference in the model years?I'd like to know before I run out and purchase another manual. Thanks

"Mike.... In thinking back, jogging my memory, I can think of no major differences in the 40hp OMC outboards between 1962 and 1970. There were changes in the carburetor choke setup and other minor differences (improvements they called them). In short, that Clymer manual should work out fine for you. Just work around the minor differences that you come across. If you get stuck, we'll still be here <grin>.
