I have a 4 cyc I/O Volvo Pen

I have a 4 cyc I/O Volvo Penta engine that is shooting water out of the carb when I turn it over. Any thoughts ?

Sounds like the cooling H2O is getting into the engine. I would guess manifolds or risers as the first thing to check. Do not attempt to run or even start the engine until problem solved because if you crank it with water in the cylinders it can cause bad things to happen. Try your intake also as some were water cooled. and it may be leakinf there.Good luck and post your fix for all to share. Kim

Are you turning the engine the right way. In other words is the starter rolling the engine over clockwise when viewed from the front of the engine. Stuck valves may also have the same effect.
