Gamefisher carb kit

Hello all
I recently purchased a Gamefisher 5.0 HP and am rebuilding the carb. (found a kit)
The orange duckbill that I removed from the carb looks different than the one that came with the kit. The one I removed from the carb has a split in it. It looks cut lengthwise down the middle forming two flapping pieces, where the one that came in the kit is just a single piece of material.

I'm not sure if the one is cut by design or just torn? or if one of these is the incorrect part? I've attached a photo for a better reference.

Model # of the engine is 217586612

I know this is an old topic but I thought a reply might benefit someone else searching for help.
A hole in the side of the orange rubber piece renders it useless. That's the fuel pump. The hole in the end gets pulsations from the crankcase and that makes the skinny "bladder" swell & shrink. It's located in the flow path from the fuel inlet so these pulsations move fuel into the carb bowl.
