Drain plug leaking

Hi, I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say in this post. So the drain plug on my boat is leaking water, do you have any suggestions on what to do. Or is it just the best idea to buy a new one.
 
If the style of the plug permits, I'd try tightening it up first...if it still leaks, I'd replace the plug...
 
As Mako said, try tightening. That works for plugs that are inserted into a smooth drain hole. Most plugs with the rubber can be “expanded” by turning the pull knob on them clockwise.
I have one on my tinny that I have to hold a small brass nut while turning the “handle”.
Most, just insert them, then turn the handle, you’ll feel them snug up.
If it’s a threaded hole, (bigger boats than a tinny), the threads are buggered.
