Volvo AQ125B Recommended CruiseMax RPM

" Recently bought 1983 Bayliner 22' Cierra, Removed, overhauled & reinstalled engine (AQ125B) runs good but can't find specs for criuse RPM or max RPM, Have shop manual, it has these specs for all other Volvo engines but not the 125B. Any help appreciated. "

You should be propped so the engine can reach 5000 at WOT (Wide Open Trottle). A good cruise rpm would be 3500 - 4000.

I bought 1983 Ebco 18' Ci

I bought 1983 Ebco 18' Cimaron with AQ125 model Davew Ebco270 outdrive runing 15'-15pitch prop . What is max RPM ? It will rap to 6000 with this prop ! Top speed +- 29 MPH yet is not fast to plane out.How steap of pitch can I go @ what dimamiter for faster top speed & still get up within a short distance ? Dave

"I would take it easy as your engine is only meant to a max of 4880rpm........6000 wont do it any good. i am no expert on props but think its more important to prop so that the engine is just capable of reaching max rpm's, you definitley need to increase the pitch if your reving to 6000"
