From the johnson/evinrude line up there is the "introduces" scale to help with identifying the years and such for an outboard...does anyone know what the yamaha corp. would use for this?

bob-the very last letter in the serial number should tell you the year

K 85
J 86
H 87
G 88
F 89
D 90
P 91
Q 92
R 93
S 94
T 95
U 96
V 97
W 98
X 99
Y 2000
Z 2001
