HELP!! I'm new to the boat world and I'm having a hard time finding the Serial number for my 1989 Force 85hp outboard motor. The sticker on the mounting bracket is worn and the numbers are gone. Is there anywhere else the numbers might be stamped on the motor. I read a couple other forums and ppl were saying it's near the carbs, but I'm not finding it. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

IF???? the boat and motor is a package from the factory??
And no one's changed the motor????
You can ask the boat company.
Bayliner made/sold Maxim and an aluminum boat called Bluefin(or something like that)

You can find a foundry stamp on the base of the intake manifold and under the power packs and coils
near the top of the block.
That will give you the year it was made but nothing else.

The model/serial #s, they changed when a small change was made.
But all the hard parts, pumps, impellers, ignition parts were all pretty much the same.

What were you needing the serial# for?

PA requires the model/serial number to transfer the motor title. Although this may have all been for nothing, if I can't get the motor to run I'll be finding a used one.
