I've got a 96 Evinrude 112 spl the prop is a 14 x 19 does that sound correct? I'm having issues with it planing out. I've got good compression, 120,120,120,125 psi. Good spark at least what I believe is good spark just had carbs rebuilt. Sometimes it will get on plane but it's not quick takes a minute when it does. Could this be a prop issue? Any and all input is welcomed, thanks.

you need to vent the hub to get a good holeshot. Very easy to do.. you need 1x 1/8th and 1x 1/2 inch size drill bits and simply drill 1 1/2 inch hole behind each blade.
I have been doing this for over 40years. its no harm to the top end performance an will get you on the plane so much faster.
measure as in the diagram an drill the 1/8th hole as your pilot hole then drill the 1/2 inch hole. do all 3 the same way. try to get all the same, but it is not critical to be 100% precise. you have a good bit of lee way doing this.

I do this to every through hub proi have.it gives much better holeshot but dot effect anything at all over planning speed.

I have included OMC service bulletin showing where to drill. .. just come out and up another 1/8h inc and you will be fine.
