propshaft which is the correct part number

I looked up the prop shaft for mercury mod number 1B759031. I showed two different lower units,
mine has the shallow water pick up nose cone. How can I be sure before ordering one that's the right one?
8M0060371 or 8M0140443
this shaft has been shown to be obsolete

Talk to the people in the parts department you are ordering from and ask if what you are ordering is correct. If they don't know, then call another vendor.
 
ok here I am getting ready to order a prop shaft and don't have any data on it and taking their word that its the right one.
8M0140446 I would like to see if the splines are the same as the one I already have before ordering.
Mercury said that they have no dimensions or spline count and could not tell who manufactured it.
any suggestion as to this info. thanks, KevL
