Is this torsion arm trashed

I’m wanting to get a better than current single axel concidering this.

doe’s the torsion arm appear to be completely rusted / shot?

It will be a 200 mile one way trip to look in person. Price is $150. for a rusted axel.

edit not to concerned w/ brakes mainly the torsion arm suspension
Thanks TB

The whole hub appears to be trash. Look at the lower bolt on the torsion arm. The disk is trash, as is the entire hub. You need to replace it all - probably both sides.

I'm willing to swap in a new set of hubs and bearings

I'm mainly interested in the axels torsion arm do they also appear shot? or could it be a reusable axel torsion suspension?

I'll try to get a image of the spindle.
Thanks TB

Only way to tell is to remove in and bang, then grind the rust off and see how much metal you have. It will be a judgement call. Certainly replace the bolts.

Ayuh,... The most common failure point with torsional axles are the rubber blocks in the axle tube,.....

The steel pieces can be cleaned up with a wirebrush, 'n sandpaper,...
