1985 Mariner 30hp question

Hello Mariners,
It took a while but I finally found a long shaft electric start 30 hp tiller. It was converted from remote and a start switch is rigged on a cable outside the cowl and I'd like to mount a proper switch but not sure where it should go. I believe this pic off the internet shows the start button on the far right which is where the kill switch is on mine. Pics are a '76 model.



Do I need to move the kill switch to the side which is what the red cable leads to in this pic ?



Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi its been a while since your original post if you have still got this motor and are willing to part with it I would be interested I am only really after the carby but may consider the whole motor.
