Stripped spark plug hole threads

greetings all

So I purchase a new to me boat last year with a 08' 250hp OptiMax Pro XS. Ran fine all summer and during the fall while winterizing it I found out that one of my spark plug hole is stripped, obviously from the previous owner. I am having the cylinder head assy replaced and was wondering if I need to break it in? I've found nothing so far on this besides the complete powerhead assy replacement and having to break that in. Any help would be appreciated.

No break in necessary. For future reference you can helicoil the head without pulling it off of the engine it just takes a little time and alot of grease.

Thanks for the info kimcrwbr1. Helicoil was what I had thought about first but when the technician mentioned he would of had to take off the head to do it properly I would of had to pay for new gaskets and labor so I opted for a new head assy.

Helicoils are not good repairs for spark plugs, only use OEM recommended repairs like Time-sert or Keensert.....
Mercury uses Keenserts...
