Hello,

I'm restoring an old 16' Glastron. It didnt come with a Motor

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out the length of the shift and throttle cables used on a 16' Glastron? It's a Mercontrol for a Mercury650 Thunderbolt.

When I measure the route from the approximate location of the control box to the engine, I get around 10'...Does seem right, or should I add an extra foot for slack?

you'll wanna add a few feet, to have a 'loop' so the engine can turn without an impact.

best thing to do is to get the 'how to measure' instructions for the brand of cable you plan to use and go from there...one example below:

Oh wow, I would have been way off... I didn't know about the loop. Thanks for the reply!
