Dear all ,I have a Honda BF225 yom 2011,after how many hours should I change the timing belt please.
massimo from Malta Europe.
also can you suggest a shop were I can buy parts with good prices as here in Malta parts are super expensive.
thanks very much

I believe the manual states 200 hours or every year. If your motor is from2011 and the belt has not been changed I think it would be a very good idea to do so. I would also change the timing belt tensioner pulley and tensioner spring just to be on the safe side. I also live in Europe but still found boats.net in America as the best price even after import duties & postage.
Good luck
Dean.

just i want to add something , the service manual says CHECK AND ADJUST the timing belt every 200 hour or 2 years. If the belt is ok No cracks no damage you can adjust it.

We used to replace it if any sign of crack of engine cross 2000 hours.

service manual doesn't mentioned the replacing time.

Very important to check tensioners and pulleys. One of my pulleys seized up on my 200 running 5k rpm and threw belt off. Cost me 24 bent valves and a weeks worth of garage mechanics.
