Engine cooling at low rpm

I have a 150hp, injected 2 stroke merc that doesn't seem to piss a good stream of water from idle to around 1200rpm. Anything above 1200 it seems to be fine. Would a T-stat cause this?
 
What year is your motor some do not have a good stream at idle especially the EFI models. Is this a new motor to you by injected do you mean fuel or oil.
 
Yes, this is my 1st boat, never had anything like this before. I'm the 2nd owner of this setup. Not even 100hrs on engine. How can i determine if the motor is a optimax?
 
Should say on the cowling if it is an optimax. Can you get a pic up. I know the efi models do not pee real strongly at an idle if at all. I don't know if the optimax is different.

Get a serial# and I think your motor is okay. I think it's normal but I would change the waterpump anyways because it's an 8 year old water pump even if it only has 100hrs on it . The price of a water pump replacement is peanuts compared to the powerhead.
