I have a 1992 Mercury 200 2.5 LXRi on a 1993 Pro Craft 200 Pro. I bought the boat last summer knowing #1 cylinder on the starboard side was dead. Upon pulling the head it was revealed that the piston was burnt, after further inspection it looks like the reed is also cracked. My question is can that crack be repaired or can it be replaced?

Looks like a wrist pin bearing failed and caused a lot of damage.-----The crack in the circle is NOT a reed.--------Take this motor apart and see if there is anything worth salvaging.

That piston is still connected to the rod, it moves up and down while turning the crank. I have a picture with the piston at the top and it looks melted. Those pieces of metal imbedded in the piston is the rings. I have great compression on all the other cylinders, 115-120. The motor does run.
