winterizing my outboard

a first time gas outboard gas user
and first time winterizing it
i understand the fogger, and replace the lower unit fluid
what about removing any water from the engine.
do i worry about that ?
or do i inject air into the water intake ?
 
If a 4-stroke, change the engine oil, also. Full tank of gas with stabilizer. If used in saltwater flush extensively, then just drain all the water our by exercising your trim in and out a bit. It's also a good time to grease all of the fittings, cables, and pulleys.
 
In the normal running position most outboards drain the water out.----But consult your owners manual on your model.
