I have a 1997 Mercury 150 EFI lost top end power while pulling a knee boarder, took of cover and found control cable had broke. Changed my cable but still have no top end power?

I'm taking it to the lake to see if I can identify the hub situation, good or bad. Will double check throttle power as well. The motor will throttle up in neutral but may not be throttling up under forward load. Will throttle up in reverse.

Jeff I'm not getting full throttle under forward load, reverse seams to be higher rpm but I can only get enough rpm in forward to come just short of plaining out.

ok, have the manuals now and that's the way it is looking - new stator...will do finial test tonight, thanks Faz and I will be in touch to let you know.
 
Should receive switchbox this week will let you know Fazt if that is the problem solver foe now. Stator checked out ok per ohms test, rectifier/reg. checked out, and coils checked out so we will see with the new switchbox.
