my hot water tank blew and i can't replace it right now . yan 40 hp engine (o5 with 300 hrs on it) has 2 hot water heater take off hoses off the block carrying antifreeze (1 in 1 out) from thermostat area that will heat the h 2 0 in the HW heater when engine is running. the hoses feed into a stainless closed loop inside the isotherm hot water heater. the HWH blew a seam and now won't hold h 2 0 so the metal loop which takes the engine antifreeze past the water in the water heater is no longer submersed in water.
is it OK to run the engine with out water in the hot water tank ?
NB the hoses off the engine block are pretty new and rated 70 PSI and 220 degrees f.
i only have a 15 minute run to get the boat to the travelift for haulout.
