225 offshore gear case

I need to know if my 1996 Mercury 225hp offshore gear case is interchangeable with the 250hp gear case?
Are the gear ratios the same?
Mine is shot but I have a lead on a 250hp lower end.

The 225 and 250 came in 2 different ratios( 1:75 and 1:87) as long as the 2 match it will fit. Make sure driveshaft as same lenght.
