Yanmar 6lpa-stp oil in coolant

Hi there,
I have a well maintained 2000 hr old motor in my boat that runs like a dream.

I noticed yesterday that there was oil in the coolant and I'm hoping for some advice.

The motor has a sea water cooled engine oil cooler so no chance of oil in coolant from that source.

I'm guessing this leaves the possibility of a head gasket or crack some place? The thing that makes me wonder tho is that the engine oil is ready for a change now that it's 100 hours since my last service and is black. Wouldn't that mean black oil in the coolant too? However the coolant has a light brown color. The coolant I'm using is Nulon Red Long Life Coolant.

I've ordered an oil test kit as I want to see if there is any water in the engine oil. Looking at the dip stick it is not at all milky in color so hoping there is no water in the sump.

Also what are the downsides of running the engine with this problem?

Any suggestions would be welcome!

Thanks.
