Mercruiser 6cyl io lack of power

I have a 27' 2002 (carburetor) Tahoe Pontoon boat. It was just tuned up plugs, wires, distributer cap and rotor and now it will not turn faster than 2700 Rpms at full throttle. Looking for possible solutions could it be the coil? Timing? It has the same prop on it that it had new when it used to turn well over 3000 Rpms?

I simply said check your advance mechanism, whether it be mechanical or electronic? You don't know if it's T-bolt IV, or T-bolt V, or has been changed to something else since then?
