leaking fuel tank

have a 1985 bayliner trophy 20,8 ft with a 225 volvo, whats the best way to remove fuel tank ????
 
Two options that I know of are to 1) remove the engine and slide the tank out, 2) cut the floor and remove the tank...I couldn't tell you which one is preferred for your hull.
