to rebuild or not

I have a 70 glastron bowrider. my 94 Yamaha 75hp 2 stroke needs a rebuild at an estimate of 1600-1700.00. They are offering me an 88 merc 80hp oil injected for 1500.00 installed.this is at a Yamaha dealer/marina.Any suggestions?I would also be having part of the floor repaired for 6-700.00.I'm not sure about trying to find an other 2000.00 boat and inherite other problems.any thoughts would be appreciated! I'd research that particular Merc before committing. Post a question and find out what others are saying about it in the MercOB forum.
Warranty? All controls? Owners manual? Your Yamaha required for trade in? Everything in writing!!

Same with the Yamaha. Were you happy with it? Determine if the rebuild is worth it to you.
1600-1700 sounds like a verbal quote to me. Everything in writing!!
Or maybe just shop around for another of the same and keep yours as a parts donor.
