Sloppy steering, to much play.

I own a 1990 four winns freedom 17' bow rider, i have the 3.0 liter OMC cobra out drive. Is there a steering dampener, or cables that can be adjusted to tighten up the steering? This thing wandersa all over the place you are constantly correcting the steering, if you start to make a sharp turn it wants to go completely against the stops in that dirrectipon and you have to really fight it to keep it from doing that. When pulling the tube it makes cutting back accross the wake a very freaky move as the steering is all aver the place. Please, if anyone can help i wpould appreciate it .........................Thanks for your time

Ayuh,.... You have to Look at the linkages to See where the slop is,....
It can be Anywhere, 'tween the helm, 'n drive,....
