1999 Johnson 200 Ocean Runner engine light at 4000 RPM

Seems like a common problem, it's plagued me all summer. Have changed every fuel line including filler hose and vent, added inline water separator, changed fuel filter (was just about clogged), changed fuel pickup (had chunk of rubber stuck inside), changed check valve at tank (completely full of rubber and crap), changed gasket on fuel sending unit (where the rubber was coming from), sucked out fuel tank nothing really came out but clean gas so I think it is clean. Took the boat out today thinking it would be all set. Did the exact same thing, runs great for 2 hrs no problems then at about 4000 RPM the buzzer goes off along with the check engine, throttle back and it goes off. Did check the bulb and it was soft, pumped up and on my way until I go over 4000 and it starts all over again. The engine will start dying if I don't throttle back, I undid the gas cap to see if it was a vent problem but had no effect. Any idea what to check next, VRO, Fuel Pump??
