Kohler 8e generator problem

I have an Kohler 8e (think it's a 1996) runs fine but shuts off after an hour or so...after the battery dies I guess. Battery has been checked and is fine. it's not charging the battery. Someone said it may be a bridge rectifier. 2 questions, one does that sound correct? 2. are the yavailable for model that old?

First you need to verify why the engine is stopping...could be lack of charging but could be a bunch of other items as well.

As far as parts go, you should have both the model # and the serial # to look them up...most parts for that vintage are still available...
