1990-96 evinrude 60hp cuts in and out under load

runs fine when cold but cuts in and out under load when hot. runs fine no missing or anything of the sort just any more than 1/4 throttle and cuts in and out.

my assumption would be the main is it power pack? excuse my terminology. because a coil pack would just cause it to miss?

or am i on the wrong track and it could be fuel?

im pretty sure its electrical because on the trip it was running fine until the negative terminal wire came off terminal and caused a short.

any help is much appreciated

I suggest you pot that on the Johnson/Evinrude forum on this site. Go to the top of this page. Go to "Forum Home." Select Johnson/Evinrude Outboards.

Also, you need to be more specific - negative wire came of what terminal and shorted to what?
