last winter, a branch fell onto my boat, ripping the cover and damaging the top of my transom.
the top surface of the wood laminate got wet. i let it dry and injected construction adhesive into the cavities and clamped it.
i plan to put a 9.9 outboard.
the boat is a 14 ft. fiberglass. i plan to add a 1/4" aluminum plate to " sandwich" the wooden transom. to secure it.
is the aluminum plate necessary ?
and can anyone think of other options or suggestions ?
and im thinking of using flat head stainless steel bolts, washers and nuts on the inside. sealed with silicone.
thanks,
Rick
