prop replacement

This is for a 1962 Evinrude 75 hp. Have a replacement prop that appears to be correct. The prop shaft from the motor is round with no bumps or keys. The prop fits over the shaft. The inside of the prop has two small keyways and when i place the prop on the shaft it goes on approx half way . Then i rotate the prop and it slides on the rest of the way but it is as if the keyways are engaged. the holes for the shear pin are then approx 90 degrees off.
The prop shaft has no means to engage the keyways on the prop yet that is what appears to be the case. Any ideas???

You need to file the bumps from around the drive pin holes.-Then prop will slide on and off easily.

I have the nose cone and cotter pin. There does not appear to be any bumps or keys to file awawy. The prop appears to engage the keyways and is off about 90 degrees from aligning the hole in the prop with the shear pin location.

You need to file around the drive pin holes and remove the bumps.
