Hi, I recently inherited a 1984 Suzuki outboard and aluminum stick steering boat from my brother. He rebuilt the carburetor and changed out the impeller. It runs fine after it warms up, but I tried to open it up and it runs hard but boat does not go. The trim has a leak and it leaks down after you trim it up. Could be the motor is popping up, but it seems as though he may not have put the lower unit back on correctly. Is it the gears not put back together right? Like I said it will putt around at slow speed but won't go fast. Engine is revving up though. Help!!
